Izzy:

Hi everyone, today we completed our last full day in Zambia where we had an amazing day! We woke up for a tasty breakfast at 7:30am before heading out and jumping straight into our safari trucks! We drove to Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park where we began our safari. We spotted several young giraffes, lots of Impala and caught a glimpse of an elephant. We were told we were unable to see the white rhinos as there were to many elephants around which made it dangerous so we headed back to the hotel, which was very sad as Mr Horrod had said in all the years that he has been coming, that had never happened.

We were then surprised by being rushed back to the park to see the white rhinos as it was then safe to do so! James managed to get in touch with the company and they agreed to take us back! We got really close to the rhinos and it was such a cool experience to see them up close and in person!

We then went to a local village where a team of us played a game of tag rugby against the local kids (unfortunately, we lost) before going to our hosts house for traditional a dinner which we ate with our hands! We finished up the evening with an awards show where we got wooden Rhinos as trophies which everyone was very excited to win!

P.S. I cant wait to see you all soon and give Monty and Kiki lots of hugs (I’ve got a few gifts for everyone!)

Love Izzy

Talulla:

On our last day of our trip we woke up ready for the exciting day ahead. We got in our safari trucks and headed down to Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. The first animals we saw were the baboons and their babies. We drove around the national park and saw loads of impalas which were so cute. Later we saw warthogs and a massive elephant which we somehow managed to lose. We drove around the giraffe loop and saw two 1 year old giraffes. We saw many zebras, had a snack and went home gutted as we couldn’t go and see the rhinos due to it being dangerous. There was a herd of elephants around the rhinos as they were trying to steal their food.

When we got home, James managed to arrange the company taking us back to see the rhinos. We got out of the truck and walked less than 20 metres away from a crash of white rhinos. There are only 10 of them left in Zambia, and one of the white rhinos had a baby two weeks ago but it wasn’t there today. After we got back, we got ready to go out to Mukuni Village.

First of all we played a tag rugby match against the kids which we lost embarrassingly. We went up to the house and had a local traditional meal that we ate with our hands. The meal consisted of a beef stew, chicken stew, nshima, ocra and so much more. The meal was the best meal I had on the trip. After we ate the fruit off a baobab tree (which was amazing) we learnt how to say thank you traditionally and went home singing our almost final rendition of Careless Whisper.

When we got home we had our awards night where I won LOUDEST on tour and we had our final night by the fire ready for the long journey home starting tomorrow morning.

(P.S. can’t wait to see you both, love you!)
