Izzy: Hi everyone, today we completed our last full day in Zambia where we had an amazing day! We woke up for a tasty breakfast at 7:30am before heading out and jumping straight into our safari trucks! We drove to Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park where we began our safari. We spotted several young giraffes, lots of Impala and caught a glimpse of an elephant. We were told we were unable to see the white rhinos as there were to many elephants around which made it dangerous so we headed back to the hotel, which was very sad as Mr Horrod had said in all the years that he has been coming, that had never happened. We were then surprised by being rushed back to the park to see the white rhinos as it was then safe to do so! James managed to get in touch with the company and they agreed to take us back! We got really close to the rhinos and it was such a cool experience to see them up close and in person! We then went to a local village where a team of us played a game of tag rugby again...

Monday 28th, penultimate day of activities before the long journey!

Hugo: Today was far more than expected… I woke up to a lovely Fawlty fry up with a nice lie in and plenty of free time before leaving. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by too many baboons to count. To us it was crazy how vast the expanse of free roaming wildlife was. All along our route to the first stop we got more and more excited for what we were about to see. At the bottom of the gorge although we couldn’t see the falls themselves, got a great idea of the power and surge of the water and it was immense. By this point I realised people probably weren’t being dramatic about raincoats. We then climbed back to the top and had ample time to spend looking at the falls from all spots availabe, including Knife Edge bridge, very high, very terrifying but worth it for the gorgeous view at the top. We got more and more soaked the further we walked along and at some points it was difficult to see in front of you as the mist was so thick. Looking forward to tomorrow’s safari into t...

We all had a lie in this morning apart from me, Ellen and Mr Burton, who attended our regular little book club in the morning before breakfast. Just after ten we left for the market where we all had a go a bartering for a cheaper price for souvenirs and crafts. I ended up with a pair of elephant trousers and some bracelets before calling my days of bartering to a close - my skills are not amazing. Around midday most of us went into the pool to cool off from the day and for fun before everyone disappeared to their rooms to get ready for dinner and to have a reset. The restaurant was a few minutes down the block and they served crocodile and friend caterpillars, even though I’m pescatarian I ended up trying the crocodile because it’s a once in a life time opportunity and it surprisingly tasted good. It was a mix between chicken and fish. We ended the day back at Fawlty Towers with me. Ellen, Leila and Mr burton having our usual games night. P.S. I can’t wait to see you mum , dad ...

Sunday Morning Lie-ins and market visit to come ..........

Saturday 26th

Flo: We woke up early today to a delish cooked breakfast and left for our tournament. We arrived with all the pitches set up already so we didn’t have to do too much. The clubs came and I reffed the last few games. Then at the end when all the awards had been given out I got interviewed for the Zambia News Broadcasting Corporation which was quite scary. We walked back to our hotel we got pancakes for lunch and exchanged our money, ready for the market tomorrow. At 3:30 we got a bus to the Zambezi river for the river cruise. We saw   crocodiles, quite a few hippos, a variety of birds and an elephant which was so cool. I’d never seen a crocodile and a hippo in the wild. The sunset was absolutely amazing and, especially with my friends. We had catered food and unlimited drinks!       Hi It’s Phoebe! Today was the last day of tag rugby activities. We got up at around 6am to the loud noises of the town. Then I did a book club with Mr Burton for about 5 minute...

Hi, It’s Robyn. Today was our last day at Sizinda Camp (Victoria Falls) and we were held a tournament for all the schools that we have been teaching this week. There were four schools and each school had 3 to 4 teams. I was a team manager and a reserve referee but I didn’t get to referee today. Hopefully, I will in the tournament tomorrow. My school won 1 st and 2 nd place, so me and the other people coaching Grace Mission School with me were really happy. We coached them for 2 hours every day this week. I had to say good bye to a girl called Christine who was a really good player and she made me two bracelets saying ‘love u Robyn’ which I absolutely love. We then left for the next place to stay. PS: to my parents, it’s been amazing and I haven’t even had time to miss you properly but I do miss seeing you every day. To my brother, I’ve bought you a little gift for when I get home. opH Jen…we woke up at 6:00am so we could see the last sunrise at Sizinda camp (which was for onc...
